Liya was rushed to the doctors after she began to lose her appetite, developed bruising and had difficulty walking.
In February, after a series of tests, 18-month-old Liya was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML).
Doctors have now told the family that Liya must receive a blood stem cell donation by the end of July if she is to beat the disease.
Liya’s mum, Hatice, said: “I couldn’t breathe. I felt like my heart had been stabbed over and over again. I just sobbed.
“We’re so devastated and sometimes it still seems unreal what we’re going through but we’re hoping that Liya will find her perfect ‘genetic twin’ very soon.
“The only way we can keep our baby with us, is you. We are asking everyone to help our daughter become a happy, healthy girl again”.
