Where it all began
Started in memory of two special people
Ceri has been involved in youth participation since the age of 13, starting as a member of Dudley Youth Council and going on to patient-govern for Birmingham Children’s Hospital, campaigning for the rights of disabled children and young people.
Her public service has won her 12 community awards — including Build-A-Bear Workshop’s Huggable Heroes Award, which is when she first saw how much mascots mean to children.
As a Diana Award holder she became friends with fellow courageous citizen Liam Fairhurst, who raised £320,000 for CLIC Sargent before sadly passing away from cancer. Months later Ceri’s uncle, Kevin Round, died in a motorbike accident. Ceri founded More Mascots Please CIC in memory of them both, and for their families.
